The elective course "Venture Mechanisms for Supporting Innovative Activity" is a joint educational project between the NSU Faculty of Economics and Management and KAMA FLOW. It provides students with the opportunity to become familiar with the various types and structures of venture funds, investor attraction strategies, the fund lifecycle, and key investment instruments. Students also receive feedback on practical assignments from KAMA FLOW experts. The final assignment of this year's special course was modeling the operations of a venture fund: participants assessed promising technology areas, selected projects, and analyzed their investment attractiveness based on real data and case studies from the SberUnity project database.

"During the course, we thoroughly examined both the theoretical foundations of venture investing and practical tools for evaluating and selecting startups at various stages, as well as the legal aspects of deal structuring and project exit strategies. "We are particularly pleased to see growing interest in venture investing: 44 students enrolled in the course this academic year, double the number from the previous year," noted Elena Obukhova, PhD in Economics and Associate Professor in the Department of Management at the Faculty of Economics at NSU.

"The main goal of the special course is to introduce future specialists to the venture capital market and demonstrate the connection between theory and practice using real-world case studies. We are pleased to see growing interest in innovation and believe that such educational programs are shaping a new generation of professionals in the venture capital industry. I would also like to point out that KAMA FLOW, as well as its portfolio companies, employs many NSU graduates—this confirms the high level of specialist training at the university," said Pavel Okhonin, partner at KAMA FLOW.

For the NSU Faculty of Economics, the elective course on venture investing, jointly developed and implemented with KAMA FLOW, is extremely important, as confirmed by Faculty Dean Tatyana Bogomolova, as it allows students to gain first-hand knowledge and skills, develop the competencies necessary for work in this promising field, and tap into the experience of significant players in the venture capital market.
