Sber and the Moscow Innovation Cluster conduct a free educational programme for training business angels "Venture Academy. Siberia" in the regions of Russia. Entrepreneurs and start-up investors and top managers of large companies in Siberia are invited to participate in the first stream. By the end of the year the programme is planned to be replicated in other regions of the country.

The programme participants will learn the basics of venture capital investment, how to choose a startup and assess the risks of investment, prepare an investment agreement, organise and syndicate a deal. Upon completion of the training, new venture capitalists can immediately get down to practice - as potential investors, they can participate in pitch sessions where startups present high-tech solutions and attract investments for their development. Syndication of deals will take place via the SberUnity platform.

Investors are invited to participate in the "Venture Academy. Siberia" invites investors from the Altai Territory, Kemerovo Region, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Novosibirsk Region, Omsk Region, Republic of Tyva, Republic of Khakassia and Tomsk Region interested in developing competences in investing in technology companies.

Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank:
"Despite the fact that 91% of the country's population is concentrated in the regions and 55% of startups are created in the regions, non-metropolitan startups receive only 15% of investments. And now is the right time to reverse this trend. Our task is to open up an alternative way for active investors in the regions to multiply capital and diversify assets, attract attention to investments in technology and thus develop this sector of the economy in the country".

Christina Kostroma, Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of Moscow:
"We see great interest from our partners in forming regional venture communities and developing competences of market participants. That is why we decided to transfer our experience and expertise, provide the necessary tools and thus motivate regional investors to contribute to strengthening the country's technological sovereignty".

The Moscow Innovation Cluster contributes to the creation of conditions for the implementation of priority areas of scientific and technological development in the capital - the development and implementation of innovative technologies, ensuring scientific, technical and industrial cooperation, effective interaction of all participants of the innovation ecosystem of Moscow.
