The contract closing the deal was signed on the sidelines of the anniversary Russian Venture Forum in Kazan on April 9. 50 million rubles were invested by the Friendly VC fund, and another 20 million came from the Lobachevsky Fund.

Smart Sea develops solutions in the field of intelligent transport systems, including its product iCrosswalk – a computer vision and AI-based system that provides 24/7 monitoring of pedestrian crossings. Today, the technology has been deployed in 50 cities across 35 regions.

The funds raised will be used to scale the business, expand the product line, and strengthen the company’s position in the ITS market.

As noted by KAMA FLOW partner Evgeny Borisov, the closed round will enable the business to effectively set new standards for the entire intelligent transport systems industry:

“iCrosswalk is a breakthrough technology that serves the broader mission of improving road safety and directly impacts the quality of life in cities where it is already implemented. Our partnership with Smart Sea at various stages—from early pilots to the current scaling phase—is part of our strategy to comprehensively stimulate the growth of technology companies capable of achieving leadership in their niche both nationally and globally.”
